The Irish coastline is abundantly populated by many species of fish that can be fished on lures: Wrasse, Pollack and Seabass are our targets.
The techniques are many, depending on the targeted species and the fishing areas. We use different types of Softbaits, rigged on jigheads or texas rig, and with Hardbaits such as minnows, WTD and metal jigs.
High quality equipment are recommended: when fishing the Ocean from a cliff, nothing should be left to chance. Rods of different powers to adapt to the different techniques, and excellent reels, with 15lb to 30lb braids, allows us to have the right fishing action and to properly fight the powerful oceanic fish.
During your holiday at Blackbay Lodge, you can choose to spend one or more days with this type of fishing: from the lodge you can reach the coast of West Clare in very little time, famous for the breathtaking landscapes like the Cliffs of Moher. During the day we constantly change spots and techniques, as we try to catch as many different species as possible.
